Asus ROG Phone 8 gaming smartphone launched to take the market by storm with performance-features
Asus finally launched their much awaited ROG Phone 8 series of gaming phones in the market. While the Asus ROG Phone 8 and ROG Phone 8 Pro models retain their high performance with flagship chipsets, just like the previous generation models, they move away from the hardcore gaming design seen in their predecessors. In addition, the ROG Phone 8 series features the most advanced camera system integrated into a ROG series phone yet. Rather than a hard-core gaming phone, the new smartphones offer the look of everyday devices. Let's take a closer look at ROG Phone 8 and ROG Phone 8 Pro's design, specifications, features and price.
Asus ROG Phone 8 series design :-
Previously released ROG phones featured thick bezels, but the new Asus ROG Phone 8 series features a flat display with a punch-hole cutout centered on the front and slim bezels. On the other hand, the standard ROG Phone 8 has a customizable Aura RGB lighting logo on the back of the phone, while the Pro variant has a customizable AniMe Vision mini-LED light equipped with 341 LEDs. Both the devices come with IP68 rated chassis for water and dust resistance. Both the Asus ROG Phone 8 series phones measure 163.8 x 76.8 x 8.9 mm and weigh 225 grams, making them slimmer and lighter than the predecessor Asus ROG Phone 7 series.

The Asus ROG Phone 8 and 8 Pro feature a 6.78-inch Samsung AMOLED LTPO display with Full HD+ resolution of 1,080 x 2,400 pixels, 165 Hz high refresh rate, and peak brightness of up to 2,500 nits. , offers glove touch support and an in-screen fingerprint scanner.
In terms of performance, the Asus ROG Phone 8 and ROG Phone 8 Pro are powered by the flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor. The standard model has up to 12GB/16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB of UFS 4.0 storage. On the other hand, the Pro variant will offer 16GB/26GB LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB/1TB UFS 4.0. For power backup, both the devices use a 5,500mAh battery, which supports 65W fast charging, Quick Charge 5.0 and PD charging. Besides, both the handsets support 15W Qi wireless charging.
Asus ROG Phone 8 and ROG Phone 8 Pro run on Android 14 based ROG UI custom skin. Both phones have a conductive cooling system for heat dissipation. The new AeroActive Cooler X accessory in the ROG Phone 8 series is now 29 percent smaller and 10 percent lighter than before and offers a larger contact area.
For a better gaming experience, Asus ROG Phone 8 comes with the “AI Grabber” feature, which is designed to streamline the process of searching the gaming walkthrough by recognizing and copying in-game text. To make it easier to find a relevant walkthrough, Asus has copied a mission objective from a game like Genshin Impact. Also, Asus offers some AI-powered features like enhanced results through the phone launcher, gallery and settings apps. The company has also developed an upcoming feature called “AI Wallpaper”, which will create personalized wallpapers using stable diffusion.
For photography, the Asus ROG Phone 8 and ROG Phone 8 Pro have a 50-megapixel Sony IMX890 primary camera on the back with optical image stabilization (OIS) support, a 13-megapixel ultra-wide lens with a 120-degree field-of-view (FOV), and a 3x There is a triple rear setup with a 32-megapixel telephoto camera with optical zoom and OIS support. Asus ROG Phone 8 Series Price and Availability :-
The base 16GB RAM + 256GB storage variant of the Asus ROG Phone 8 is priced at $1,099 (roughly Rs. 91,340). The 16GB RAM + 512GB storage model of the phone is priced at $1,199 (roughly Rs. 99,650). And the Asus ROG Phone 8 Pro with 24GB RAM + 1TB storage is priced at $1,499 (roughly Rs. 1,24,600). The standard Asus ROG Phone 8 will be available in Rebel Gray and Phantom Black color options. On the other hand, the Pro variant will only be available in the Phantom Black shade. The Asus ROG Phone 8 will be available for purchase in spring 2024. However, the company has not yet confirmed anything about when this lineup will enter the Indian market.
