Vivo will surprise by launching the first folding phone with Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset
Vivo is gearing up for their next launch event in home market China. The brand is likely to launch the latest foldable smartphones there. The Vivo X Fold 3 Pro is speculated to be one of the first foldable phones powered by Qualcomm's flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. However, it is not yet clear what the differences might be between the standard Vivo X Fold 3 and its Pro variant. However, a well-known tipster has revealed the chipset name of the standard model.
Vivo X Fold 3 series and Vivo Pad 3 coming soon
The digital chat station has shared information about some Vivo devices in its Weibo (Chinese microblogging site) post without revealing its name. However, the information is believed to be related to the Vivo X Fold 3 series and the Vivo Pad 3. Vivo X Fold 3 and Vivo X Fold 3 Pro will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 and Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipsets respectively.

The inclusion of Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 in the Vivo X Fold 2 indicates that it is going to be an affordable foldable phone. Incidentally, an earlier report mentioned that the Vivo Pad 3 tablet will feature the MediaTek Dimension 9300 chipset. And the tipster indicated in his post that the Vivo Pad 3 may offer OLED and LCD display options.
The Vivo Pad 2, which debuted in April, has a 12.1-inch IPS LCD display with a 144Hz refresh rate and a MediaTek Dimensity 9000 chipset. Digital Chat Station claims that the Vivo Pad 3's display size will be larger than the previous generation. According to other reports, Vivo X Fold 3, Vivo X Fold 3 Pro and Vivo Pad 3 could debut in the first quarter of this year.
