Big changes are coming to the iPhone 16 series, new lenses and buttons will be added-
Apple iPhone 15 series launched last September with major upgrades. Dynamic Island has been added to the base models of this lineup. Apart from the iPhone 15 Pro Max's new tetraprism lens, the biggest highlight so far is the inclusion of a USB-C port. It is believed that the upcoming iPhone 16 Pro series may see some more changes. New reports suggest that Apple will also install a new Capture button in addition to the Action button on the iPhone 16 Pro. Besides, the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max models will also have larger displays and tetraprism lenses. Let's take a look at what new information has surfaced about the iPhone 16 Pro models.
iPhone 16 Pro models will get a new capture button :-
MacRumors had claimed in an earlier report that Apple was working on a capacitive action button, which would be flush with the device's frame. This button was codenamed Atlas and was said to have a pressure sensor attached to it, similar to the iPhone 8's Touch ID. However, a new report from MacRumors suggests that Apple will use mechanical action buttons on its upcoming iPhones. Instead, Apple will add a new Capture button to the right of the new iPhone 16 series Pro models.
Mark Garman of Bloomberg reported that this button will act like a camera shutter for taking videos. The capture button won't stick out and blends seamlessly into the frame. Apple will use grade five titanium in both models of the iPhone 16 Pro series The company is also said to be working on a silver color prototype for the titanium frame, which is being called 'White Titanium'.
MacRumors also mentions that the iPhone 16 Pro will have a larger 6.3-inch screen, while the iPhone 16 Pro Max will come with a 6.9-inch screen. This will be a significant upgrade over the existing 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch displays of the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max respectively. Apple is expected to use the same Super Retina XDR OLED (OLED) panel with a 120Hz refresh rate.
iPhone 16 Pro will have tetraprism lens :-
Noted Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo also reported that Apple will bring a tetraprism lens with 5x optical zoom to the iPhone 16 Pro. So far, only the iPhone 15 Pro Max has a tetraprism lens, while the regular iPhone 15 Pro will be limited to 3x optical zoom. According to the analyst, the larger screen size on the upcoming iPhone 16 Pro will create enough space to accommodate the tetraprism lens. However, the primary camera of the iPhone 16 Pro is expected to remain the same.
Ming-Chi Kuo also revealed that the selfie camera on the Apple iPhone 17 will be upgraded to 24-megapixels, a huge upgrade from the 12-megapixel sensor found in the latest model. The company is also said to be working on in-display Face ID technology while retaining the Dynamic Island feature.
